2014 Pinot Noir

$38

This is our 'anti-Pinot.'  We enjoy wines with larger structure and fruit, and felt that the world needed a bolder Pinot Noir. Our rendition is very full-bodied, with big fruit and tannin. While this goes against the norm for most, this wine is still approachable and holds some classic Burgundian characteristics. This is the Pinot Noir for consumers who don't like lighter Pinot, or who are looking for a different style.

Many say it is impossible to produce a nice Pinot Noir in Paso Robles, as the climate is too warm. However, our fruit is grown on steep, limestone rich soil that produces grapes with amazing natural acidity and big flavor. This vineyard block is above the fog line, and reaps the benefits of the coastal influence. We utilized the aspects of this planting and crafted a wine that expresses the fruit and flavor present in the area. Our Pinot isn't normal, but what's the fun in that?
